Our guide Comrade Ri sang us some traditional DPRK songs on the final evening which was sweet. She was a great lady with a great sense of humour. I think she wanted to get to know the world outside of the DPRK. For example, when we said goodbye at the train station she said maybe we will meet again in another country- I think she was probably hoping...

See playlist for North Korea Tour Videos 1 though 8 www.youtube.com All footage is unedited. My videos will provide you with a better understanding of what life is like for the wealthier, more privileged segment of North Koreans (which is still a hard life). I welcome any feedback or questions. Let's help ensure their desperate situation improves soon. 4/30/2010 Set off from Beijing Train Station to Dandong, China. Train passage to North Korea is the best way to see the countryside and get to know some elite North Korean passengers, without your Govt. minders present. When the train is in China, the North Korean passengers (typically those who work for the NK Govt. in roles that require them to visit China) let their guard down and you can have deep conversations, discuss world events, and joke around with them. Once the train enters North Korea however, the black suits and red pins are donned, and it's all stoic without any friendly banter. Every North Korean is terrified of their government, even the elite few. 4/31/2010 Arrive in Pyongyang by train. Meet with Government Minders who serve as the tour guides (two of them) and who never leave your side. There is also a separate driver. Three people to tour me around is indeed excessive, yet the North Koreans believe in checks and balances- assuring the minder is minding the minder who is minding the other minder...etc. Drive to Yanggakdo Hotel and discuss itinerary for the trip. This is a very large high-rise hotel on its ...

Very? nice!
@dannymaclamp How would they? see this?
@shadowzach00 Check? out wikitravelDOTorg/en/North_Korea
i have so many questions to ask how much did it cost to get on the train? ? and did you talk to anyone on the train from north korea what kind of money did you bring with you? how long was you there ? do you need a visa to go there or just a pass port ? sorry for asking to many questions
Amazing videos – I find it interesting that there have been so many documentary crews that have gone in and filmed and then come back and added their commentary and been very critical etc. etc. I would think the elites of North Korea would see some of this and? not want others to repeat that. But maybe they don’t care, they need hard currency from visitors, and they know their own people won’t ever see these things.
@shadowzach00 By train from Dandong China. It’s? an easy place to visit actually: open to anybody but South Koreans
how did you get there? o.o
@crocve North Korea exists to serve as a pawn and buffer between larger powers…and do you honestly think any outsider? is deluded about the quality of life there? Are you in elementary school?
@peronk1 I?m sorry, but you are one of the most deluded people I have ever seen in my life. What they showed to you was far away from reality that didn?t show you the big? shit that the country is.
The North Koreans have a horrible life because of their government, not because of “foreign greed”.
Surreal, fantastic, unbelievable. These are the words that comes up in my mind watching your video’s. This place is an “open museum with living people” where time stood still. You would think yourself back 50 years in time? in a communist country. I’m afraid China would love to get their hands on that. Poor people, they don’t deserve this.You can see the scare on their faces. At least we should provide help with basic things like free food asap.
Your welcome- more videos to come soon. I’m really hoping things improve? for the North Koreans. The Chinese should be ashamed for propping up and allowing North Korea to exist as a prison. Also shame on the South Koreans for allowing their race to be enslaved and treated like dogs. And shame on the Americans for being content with the status quo. And shame on me for doing nothing more about it than writing a few paragraphs now!
Amazing perspective that? I have never seen. Thanks….
