Do I need a visa to tour Ecuador for two weeks?

Question by Portnoyisagod: Do I need a visa to tour Ecuador for two weeks?
I'm 18 years old, and from Scotland. I've never traveled outside the EU/British Commonwealth so I've no idea whether I need a visa or not for visiting Ecuador. I won't be working at all while I'm there, so will I still need a visa?

From what I've read, it seems pretty unclear; generally you can just turn up with a passport, no visa, and it's cool, provided you don't work. However there's a 12-X tourist visa which is for 90 days or less of travel, I'm confused.

Thanks.

The "12-X Turismo Visa" is only required for certain countries which do not fall under the visa exemptions for tourists.

As a British citizen you can visit Ecuador as tourist without a visa as long as you stay for 90 days or less.

You don’t need a visa to enter Ecuador as a tourist and as long as you’re staying less than 90 days.

President Rafael Correa has made some reforms to impulse tourism, I think you don’t need a visa…Enjoy!
