Question by Auora: Tours and activities in perth during august?
For me and my 8yrs daughter to do, what are the top attractions, sights and tours to see??? Oh we're planning to go next august so just want a list and also what will the weather be like then as I understand its their winter (we are from London), type of clothing to pack? We're planning 2 weeks in Sydney & 2 weeks in perth or Cairns & hopefully a weekend in Adelaide.

August in Perth is normally pretty wet, and can be quite cool (though it never freezes). When it rains, it rains hard. It's not the best time to visit, to be quite honest. Schools are open, so there are not that many child-oriented activities happening and, because most of the year is very suitable for outdoor activities, very few are scheduled for August because of the risk of being rained off.
When it's not raining, the weather can be quite pleasant, especially in the middle of the day. So bring raingear, wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet, and dress in layers. You won't need an overcoat or thick woolies, though it can get cold in the evenings so a sweater or two won't go amiss.
